Welcome to Project: Eric Carle

Two Fort Worth classrooms initiated a nation-wide project involving student responses to literature, surveys and data collection. Information about the project was posted on various education sites. Other early childhood classrooms were invited to participate in the project. The location of participating classrooms was marked on a classroom map and charted. The participating classrooms read books by a famous author (Eric Carle) and then voted on the book they felt was the best book by that author. The children then created a picture illustrating their classroom’s favorite book and e-mailed (or snail mailed) a copy to our classrooms. We then made a graph showing the favorite books of the classrooms participating and how many votes each book received.
